Historia oparta na faktach. W pierwszej połowie XIX wieku posiadłość rodziny Bellów w stanie Tennesee (USA) była nawiedzana przez ducha, który swoje nadejście anonsował dźwiękiem dzwoneczka. Z każdą chwilą dźwięk ten stawał się coraz głośniejszy, wręcz nie do wytrzymania. Bestia dręczyła rodzinę Bellów przez dwa lata.
